п»їFantasy football waiver wire, Week 6: Best players to add include Andy Dalton, Travis Fulgham.
Fantasy Hall of Famer Scott Engel pinpoints the best waiver wire adds ahead of Week 6.
NFL schedule adjustments, major injuries and bye weeks are creating significant roster challenges as Week 6 of the Fantasy football season approaches. Ryan Fitzpatrick is now the No. 7 overall Fantasy quarterback as he heads into a matchup with the Jets. Should Fitzpatrick be among your top Week 6 Fantasy Football waiver wire picks? Steelers rookie wide receiver Chase Claypool exploded in a four-TD performance on Sunday.
Should Claypool be your No. 1 choice above all other Week 6 NFL Fantasy Football waiver wire targets? And how should you prioritize your claims? Before determining who you should target on the Week 6 Fantasy football waiver wire, you need to see what SportsLine's Scott Engel has to say.
Engel is an inaugural member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association's Hall of Fame. He is a four-time FSWA Award Winner and nine-time finalist, and has pulled off a three-peat in his prestigious New York City Fantasy Football League that includes other experts and high-stakes players. Engel was 45-15 in his seasonal Fantasy football leagues after four weeks. If there's anyone who knows what it takes to win a league, it's him.
Top Fantasy football waiver wire picks for Week 6.
One player Engel is advising Fantasy players to target on the Week 6 waiver wire: Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton. The longtime Cincinnati Bengal has shown he can perform at a Fantasy QB1 level in the past. He was the 10th-best player at his position in 2016, and was often regarded as a decent Fantasy QB2. Now he steps into the friendliest offensive situation of his career.
Dalton may not have as much statistical upside as Prescott did, but with an arsenal that includes three explosive wide receivers, an emerging tight end and a running back who can catch passes out of the backfield and ease pressure on him, he is set up for Fantasy success. Dalton never had such an impressive supporting cast during his Bengals tenure, and could vault into Fantasy QB1 territory with Dallas. He could solve any current quarterback issues you may have, and should at least be a quality streaming option.
Another waiver wire target he's all over entering Week 6: Eagles wide receiver Travis Fulgham. Philadelphia's wide receiver corps has again been decimated by injuries, and the team desperately needed to step forward as a playmaker. No one expected it to be Fulgham, who was cut by both the Lions and Packers this summer. He was promoted from the practice squad earlier this month in a move largely ignored by Fantasy players.
Fulgham immediately took advantage of an opportunity in Week 4, catching a 42-yard TD pass vs. the 49ers. He then busted out for 10 catches for 152 yards against Pittsburgh in Week 5. Fulgham has already displayed big-play ability and the willingness to make tough catches. He may continue to be a significant contributor for the Eagles and Fantasy players in the weeks ahead.
How to set your Week 6 waiver wire claims.
Engel is also all-in on a resurgent wide receiver who should be an immediate add. This player is still widely available and could be a huge boost to your Fantasy football roster moving forward. You can only see who it is at SportsLine.
So which players should you target on the Fantasy football waiver wire before Week 6? And which quarterbacks are the best options to replace Dak Prescott? Visit SportsLine now to see the best league-winning Fantasy football free agents entering Week 6, all from a Fantasy Hall of Famer, and find out.

Fantasy Football Rankings Week 6, 2020: Model that beat experts says start Jonnu Smith, sit Deshaun Watson.
SportsLine's advanced computer model reveals start-sit advice for Week 6.
Setting your Fantasy football lineups on a weekly basis can be stressful, but the possibility for positive coronavirus tests and postponements at any moment has added to the difficulty. The Titans took 17 unexpected days off while dealing with an outbreak at their facility in Nashville, but Derrick Henry owners were happy to have their first-round pick back in Week 5 as he rushed for a pair of touchdowns. He'll be near the top of the Week 6 Fantasy football rankings with a juicy matchup against Houston's 31st-ranked run defense.
Unfortunately, Vikings running back Dalvin Cook won't be in the lineup after he suffered an adductor strain a week ago. Should you target backup Alexander Mattison with your Week 6 Fantasy football picks? Before you lock in your lineups, be sure to check out the latest Week 6 Fantasy football rankings from the advanced computer model at SportsLine.
When it comes to ranking players, their model beat human experts in Fantasy football last season when there were big differences in ranking. Over the course of a season, that could literally be the difference between winning your league or going home empty-handed.
Last week, the model was extremely high on Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf, saying he'd finish as a top-10 player at his position. The result: Metcalf hauled in six passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on their way to a huge week.
Now, the model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, has revealed its Fantasy football rankings for Week 6 of the 2020 NFL season. Head to SportsLine now to see them.
Top Fantasy football picks for Week 6.
One player the model is extremely high on this week: Titans tight end Jonnu Smith. After being drafted in the third round in 2017, Smith showed promise in 2018 and 2019 as starting tight end Delanie Walker battled injuries. Now, Smith is an upper-echelon talent at tight end for Tennessee.
Smith has 18 catches for 221 yards and five touchdowns in the first four games of the season and should fare well against a Texans squad that has already given up double-digit scoring days to Travis Kelce and Eric Ebron. Smith's 21.6 percent target share is the fourth best among tight ends. That number balloons to 35.3 percent in the red zone, which is why the model ranks him solidly inside the top 10 of its Week 6 Fantasy football tight end rankings.
That's why the model ranks him as a top-10 running back for Week 6 against a Rams defense that allows 4.7 yards per carry (23rd in the NFL).
And a massive shocker: Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, who threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns last week against the Jaguars, stumbles big-time and doesn't even crack the top 15 at his position. Watson is coming off his best performance of the season, completing 71.4 percent of his passes for over 350 yards and three scores in Houston's victory over Jacksonville. Watson has now thrown two or more touchdowns in each of his last three games. However, Watson and the Texans face a stiff test on the road against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Tennessee's defense has recorded multiple interceptions in three consecutive games this season. In addition, Watson has failed to eclipse 250 passing yards in his last two outings against the Titans. With such a tough matchup on Sunday, Watson is a player to consider putting on the bench in Week 6.
How to set your Week 6 Fantasy football rankings.
The model is also calling for a surprising quarterback you aren't even thinking about to finish in the top 10 of its Fantasy football rankings. This pick could be the difference between winning big and going home with nothing. You can see who it is here.
So who should you start and sit this week? And which surprising quarterback could lead you to victory? Visit SportsLine now to get Week 6 Fantasy football rankings for every position, plus see which QB is going to come out of nowhere to crack the top 10, all from the model that out-performed experts big-time last season.

5 breakout fantasy football stars to pick up for Week 6.
Who needs some fantasy football help? Here are 5 breakout candidates for Week 6.
At this point in the season, the waiver wire is bare. Most of the “sleepers” have been snatched up. But, there is still breakout streamline candidates who are primed for potential big games with favorable matchups.
At this point in the season, the waiver wire is bare. Most of the “sleepers” have been snatched up. But, there is still breakout streamline candidates who are primed for potential big games with favorable matchups.
As we approach the halfway point in the NFL regular season, you are probably just about halfway done with your fantasy schedule. This is a crucial part of the season, so you will want to have all the options you can.

Here is a player for the deep leagues, and owners handling potential bye weeks.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have come out and looked like a potential sneaky team to pay attention to in the AFC playoff picture. Yes, this team was projected to be good. But, right now, the Steelers look like a team that could contend with the likes of the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and New England Patriots.
A large part of the team playing well is the return of Ben Roethlisberger and how well he has utilized the weapons he has been given on offense. The receiving depth is great for the Steelers with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, and James Washington, which makes projecting weekly fantasy scores tough.
However, in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns, Washington is a breakout candidate.
Yes, Washington probably falls behind Smith-Schuster and Johnson right now. He falls behind Claypool after this week too. But, the Browns have been one of the worst defenses against the pass this year. Specifically, allowing receivers to garner big numbers.
Roethlisberger does seem to have some level of trust with Washington. In Week 3, he was targeted seven times. In Week 1, he had a receiving score. Week 5, he had three catches on four targets for 25 yards.
Washington will have open looks against a defense that focuses on Smith-Schuster and Johnson more, and may even break off for a big gain against a susceptible defense.
Grabbing a touchdown will potentially jump Washington’s score, and the Browns have allowed receivers to find the endzone this year. The Steelers love to play vertically downfield.
EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY – OCTOBER 01: (NEW YORK DAILIES OUT) Tim Patrick #81 of the Denver Broncos in action against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on October 01, 2020 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Broncos defeated the Jets 37-28. (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)

Coming into the 2020 season, the Denver Broncos young group of offensive skill position players were one of the biggest talking points around the league. Drew Lock was getting MVP whispers, and some pegged this unit to be one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.
Unfortunately, injuries riddled the team and shunned those projections. Lock has missed essentially all but one game and Courtland Sutton is out for the year. Although, Lock is on his way back.
There is uncertainty around this offense, but one player who has been able to take advantage of the unsuspected reps that were left due to Sutton’s injury is Tim Patrick.
Patrick was the go-to target for Brett Rypien during the quarterbacks first start against the New York Jets in Week 4. He had six catches for 113 yards with one touchdown on seven targets. In Week 3, he had 43 yards on four grabs and a score as well.
The volume is there. Some owners may be worried that Jerry Jeudy will steal most of the targets, but they should not be. Yes. Jeudy will get number-one receiver looks. But, with KJ Hamler battling an injury and missing Week 5, Patrick is the team’s number-two right now.
In Week 6, the Broncos will play the New England Patriots. Maybe Lock suits up for that one, and Hamler could return. Even with Hamler around, Patrick has value. Especially if Lock plays.
With attention being paid to Jeudy, Patrick could see a lot of action.
GLENDALE, ARIZONA – SEPTEMBER 27: Running back Chase Edmonds #29 of the Arizona Cardinals rushes the football against the Detroit Lions in the NFL game at State Farm Stadium on September 27, 2020 in Glendale, Arizona. ESPN rosters: 44.7 %
Yahoo rosters: 63 %
Last season, Kenyan Drake left the Miami Dolphins and absolutely took off with the Arizona Cardinals. In six games with the Dolphins, he had 174 rushing yards and no scores. Then, in eight games with the Cardinals, he went for 643 yards and scored eight touchdowns.
There is no doubt that Drake is the team’s featured back. Although, Chase Edmonds still gets some action, and he could be effective when the Cardinals visit Dallas to play the Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
Drake has been a bit banged up and cycling players in and out keeps players fresh this time of the year. So, Edmonds is probably slated for a slight uptick in reps.
When you look at Edmonds’ numbers, you probably are not blown away. His highest rushing yard total this year is 36, which came in Week 5. He has two receiving scores and one rushing touchdown.
In Week 6, it feels like a lock that Edmonds gets some play and find the endzone. Why? If you have watched the Cowboys play this year, you know just how much that defense has struggled to keep opponents from scoring.
The Cowboys have not been a good run-defense team, as they are towards the top of the league in rushing yards allowed. Meaning, the Cardinals will look to exploit that with Kyler Murray, Drake, and Edmonds.
SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 04: Greg Ward #84 of the Philadelphia Eagles warms up prior to the game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on October 04, 2020 in Santa Clara, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)

Yahoo rosters: 13 %
Every season, there seem to be common themes. Unfortunately for the Philadelphia Eagles, the theme that has followed them has been injuries to the receiving corps. It feels as though they must constantly test the roster’s receiving depth.
Well, 2020 has been no different and that theme has followed them into this season. Alshon Jeffery has not played a game yet, DeSean Jackson has been limited due to a hamstring injury, and rookie swiss-army knife Jalen Reagor landed on the injured reserve list recently.
Now Carson Wentz must lean on other options, and a player who stepped up last year has once again been asked to do the same this year: Greg Ward.
Last year, Ward filled in and compiled 17 receptions for 175 yards and one score in the team’s final three games of the year. This year, he has been more involved in the offense and has seen seven or more targets in each game besides Week 2 and Week 5.
During the team’s Week 3 tie against the Cincinnati Bengals, Ward hauled in eight catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. The potential is there, and Wentz is not afraid to target Ward when needed. This past week against the Steelers, he had four grabs for 26 yards on five targets.
The Eagles host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. At first, you must think “They are playing one of the best defenses in the NFL. I am not sure about this matchup.” And yes, that is fair. But, the Ravens have not entirely been that vaunted defense they were last year. They have been good at preventing points, but opponents have been able to move the ball against them through the air.
Ward will get targets, and perhaps even a score.
CINCINNATI, OHIO – OCTOBER 04: Gardner Minshew II #15 of the Jacksonville Jaguars throws a pass against Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium on October 04, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)
ESPN rosters: 56.1 %
Yahoo rosters: 51 %
Gardner Minshew has become a household name, and not particularly due to his play as the quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. His charismatic character took the NFL by storm last year, and everyone seems to love some “Minshew Mania”.
But, is it time to give Minshew his due as a signal-caller? All the talk around the Jaguars heading into the season was “are they tanking for Trevor Lawrence?”. Well, Minshew has made the case he is the quarterback to work with.
Right now, Minshew is either in, or around, the top 10 in completion percentage, passing yards, and passing scores. Yet, he is still rostered moderately in most league platforms (stats calculated before Week 5 games).
Here is why Minshew is such a play in Week 6. As stated before, Russell Wilson is on bye, as are two other possible options with Drew Brees and Derek Carr. Also, Minshew will play the Detriot Lions.
The Lions have defended the pass well, but they have surrendered a rather high number of touchdown passes so far. Playing off the run, and making plays out of play action, Minshew is a great option for those looking for quarterback help in Week 6. Who could use a potential multi-score day from their fantasy quarterback?

Yahoo Fantasy Football Picks Week 6: NFL DFS lineup advice for cash games.
We had Will Fuller in last week's Yahoo daily fantasy football cash lineup, and he did the work of three men -- which was needed because Lamar Jackson and Tyler Eifert really let us down. Fortunately, Adam Thielen also had a monster game, Leonard Fournette and David Johnson paid off, and John Brown provided the decent floor we were banking on. We said that last week's picks had more of a GPP feel than a cash one, and we're going back to that well with our Week 6 NFL DFS cash lineup.
You don't always see a triple stack in a cash lineup, but the Falcons provide a good opportunity this week, even on the road. You'll know they'll be running a lot of plays in Arizona, and it's almost a given they will produce a lot of yards through the air. Even though we have to pay up for our Atlanta trio, we still have room in our budget for Ezekiel Elliott thanks to big values at RB and our other two WR spots.
The names might not be the most appealing, but the matchups make up for that. Let's hope the numbers don't fail us now.
Week 6 Yahoo NFL DFS Lineup: Picks, Advice for cash games.
QB: Matt Ryan, Falcons @ Cardinals ($34). Garbage time or not, Ryan gets his yards. He trails only Patrick Mahomes in passing yards, and his 12 overall TDs is tied for third. It's not always pretty, but it's always there. Normally we don't like Ryan as much on the road, but against a Cardinals defense allowing the third-most fantasy points per game (FPPG) to QBs, in part because of the high tempo at which they play, Ryan seems like a sure thing. Given his QB6 pricing, he's actually a value.
RB: Joe Mixon, Bengals @ Ravens ($17). The volume is there for Mixon, who's had at least 17 touches each of the past three weeks. However, he's scored only once and is yet to crack 100 total yards in a game this season. That's the reason for his depressed price, but the Ravens are quietly horrible against RBs (5.0 yards per carry allowed, league-high seven rushing TDs allowed). The worry with any Baltimore game is the Ravens grinding up clock with their ball-control offense, but Cincinnati's defense is so bad, it's tough to have long drives against it. Opponents just wind up scoring relatively quickly. Either way, Mixon will get a good amount of touches, and at RB19 pricing, he's a tremendous value.
RB: Adrian Peterson, Redskins @ Dolphins ($16). Whatever theoretical savings we get with Mixon, we probably give up with Peterson. We tried him back in Week 4 against the Giants and he produced 28 yards on 11 carries, which, sadly, is almost exactly his average production in the four games he's started (10 carries, 27 yards). So, why would we pay $16 for him this week? Well, the Dolphins are a different class of bad. They're allowing a league-leading 31.9 FPPG to RBs, so you have to think even Peterson can find his way to 60 yards and a TD, right? In a cash game, we just need that solid floor, and it would take a real collapse for AP not to have one here.
WR: Julio Jones, Falcons @ Cardinals ($33). Jones has been held out of the end zone two games in a row, and while that's not uncommon for the future Hall-of-Famer, his paltry receiving totals in that span are (7-94 on 14 targets). Expect Atlanta to emphasize getting the ball back to its highly paid superstar, and expect Julio to do serious damage against the overmatched Cardinals' secondary.
WR: KeeSean Johnson, Cardinals vs. Falcons ($10). With Kirk out, Johnson should get even more targets and ake advantage of the Falcons horrible pass defense.
WR: Demarcus Robinson, Chiefs vs. Texans ($18). With Sammy Watkins out and Tyreek Hill less than 100 percent, Robinson has a good chance to step up and produce against a suspect pass defense.
TE: Austin Hooper, Falcons @ Cardinals ($25). Arizona finally held a TE out of the end zone last week. Good for them. The fact that happened actually makes us like this pick more, as we can no longer say "they're due". Hooper is the top-rated fantasy TE despite a relatively modest two TDs. Sure, garbage time has helped him, but everything is garbage time against Arizona. We had to pay up for him, but his floor is as safe as anyone at any position this week.
FLEX: Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys @ Jets ($33). Zeke is the top-priced RB at $1 more than Dalvin Cook, who's an equally solid play, but we expect the Cowboys to feed Zeke a week after getting criticized for not giving him the ball enough. The Jets are actually doing a solid job limiting rushing yards (3.6 ypc allowed to RBs), but we still think Zeke will be too much for them to handle.
D/ST: Chargers vs. Steelers ($12). With rookie Devlin Hodges likely to start, the Chargers should be able to take advantage of what little homefield advantage they have in this prime-time matchup. With eight sacks and three takeaways the past two weeks, we're finally starting to see the Chargers defense produce like we expected in the preseason.
