п»ї2020 NFL Playoffs: Saturday NFL Wild Card Odds & Betting Preview.
The Saturday NFL Wild Card odds favor the home teams in two of the three games. The NFL’s hottest team, the Buffalo Bills are the overwhelmingly popular pick to beat the Indianapolis Colts in Orchard Park. With Jared Goff still doubtful for the Los Angeles Rams, bettors like the Seattle Seahawks to hold serve at home against their NFC West rivals. At 7-9, Washington has the least wins of any team in the playoff field but hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, having won the NFC East. But the Bucs enter as eight-point road favorites and the public is all over Tom Brady and the Bucs to win and cover.
Longtime broadcaster and gambling expert David Tuchman breaks down the Saturday NFL Wild Card odds and analyzes the value plays worth a wager.
2020 NFL Playoffs: Saturday NFL Wild Card Odds.
Bills vs. Colts Betting Trends: The Bills have won six straight games and have covered in eight straight games. Bettors are confident in Buffalo advancing past the Colts to the Divisional Round, backed by 92% of the ML handle. The public is also on the Bills — 3-1 ATS when favorites by six or points — to cover (82% of spread handle).
Bills vs. Colts: Tuck’s Take: The Bills-Colts playoff odds opened with Buffalo favored by 6.5, before moving to 7 and seems to have settled at 6.5.
Josh Allen is significantly better than Philip Rivers and I don’t put much weight into the experience factor. I mean, Rivers has a ton of experience losing in the playoffs. Not sure how that helps him in Buffalo on Saturday.
That said, Josh Allen still has to deal with the more formidable defense and I love Indianapolis head coach, Frank Reich.
At 6.5, I’m leaning Indy, but my bet this week is on the money line. We won’t win this bet as often, but we don’t need to for this to be a profitable bet. In fact, we only need Indianapolis to win the game 28% of the time for this bet to turn a profit. Now, I don’t expect to “win” this bet, but my models have Indianapolis winning this game approximately 36.7% of the time which represents significant value.
Despite the fact, we prefer to back the better QB, we’ll take the value and bet 1 unit on the Colts to win 2.6 units.
Seahawks vs. Rams Betting Trends: Seattle is backed by 87% of the ML handle to win and 71% of the spread handle to cover. The Rams and Seahawks split the season series, with each team covering once. Both matchups failed to hit the Over (55.5 and 48). Seattle hit the over in its regular-season finale, having failed to do so in its seven previous games. Likewise, the Rams played to the under in their final four games of the season. The public is backing Under 42 with 71% of the O/U handle.
Seahawks vs. Rams: Tuck’s Take: Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald give the Rams a chance to win any game and they are perfectly built to contend with the passing prolific offenses of today. They’ll need to be at their best because Jared Goff is coming back from injury and even with him healthy, the Rams offense has been mediocre to bad. If Goff doesn’t play or gets hurt again during the game, the Rams will be drawing dead with John Wolford under center.
On the other side of the ball, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks offense have been in a bit of funk lately. Not bad, mind you, but we’ve certainly seen them play better. If you’ve read my blogs all year, you know I have a man-crush on Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf, but let’s not forget Tyler Lockett. This Seattle team has enough weapons and with Wilson calling the shots, they’ll be good enough at home to win.
I’m leaning Seattle -3.5 although I think it’s pretty close to being properly priced. I’ve got Seattle -4.5 so not a ton of value here. If the line moves down to 3, get on that quick.
Update: The line has moved to -3.
Once again, I’ll be betting on the money line. Seattle is -175 to win the game which means the Seahawks will need to win this game 64% of the time for me to turn a profit. At home, I’ve got them winning this game almost 69% of the time.
In addition, while I have mentioned the offensive woes of both clubs, the total of 42 is certainly representative of that. Whether it’s using his legs or his arm (or both), Wilson will find a way to get the ball into the end zone. The Rams will have to do whatever they can to match him. Again, I have little faith in the Ram’s offense, but in the playoffs, you’ll see teams scratch, claw, do whatever it takes to stay in the game. They’ll score enough to go OVER the 42 total.
I see this game at 26-21 Seattle.
My favorite bet in this game is the total as we’ll bet OVER 42.
We’re also betting on Seattle to win the game on the ML.
Washington vs. Buccaneers Betting Trends: Washington has failed to hit the over in five straight games, while the Buccaneers have hit the over just twice in their last five. Bettors are backing Under 45 with 68% of the O/U handle, up from 53% on Tuesday. Washington has not won a home playoff game since 1999, and Tom Brady has suffered just one defeat to Washington in six attempts, way back in 2003. The public is backing Tampa Bay with 93% of the ML handle to win and 78% of the spread handle to cover the second-largest differential of the weekend.
Washington vs. Buccaneers: Tuck’s Take: Between Head Coach, Ron Rivera’s fight with cancer and Alex Smith’s comeback from a devastating injury, the Washington Football club is the feel-good story of this NFL season. Their improbable run to the playoffs culminating with a mediocre performance last Sunday night.
It was that performance and the perception that this team has no chance to even keep this game competitive that has moved the line for this game all the way to 8.5 points.
Earlier in the season, I was impressed by the Buccaneers’ defense and I thought that balance made them dangerous come January, but their defense has slipped. Truth be told, Tampa Bay has one win vs a playoff team this season. Now, they can’t control their schedule, but for the record, they are 1-5 vs teams that made the playoffs this season.
Now, you can make the argument that Washington isn’t a real playoff team and that’s fair, but on the road, there’s no way this line should be 8.5 points.

It’s Saturday. You know what that means.
This weekend it is NFL Wildcard weekend and we have six games to look forward to.
It’s my wifes birthday weekend but I should be good to cover all six games. She knows NFL is more important than cake.
Big shoutout to the people who have sent in tips. You have no idea how much it means to us and how much it motivates us. Based on the work we do and the hours we spend, we technically made a profit on the site for the first time ever in December. Thank you so much! Recent ones were Elias, Luke and Fred. We love you guys.
I went 60% approximately in the regular season with my betting tips and I’m hoping to get close to that during the playoffs.
We have three games taking place today. It all kicks off at 1pm EST with the Colts vs the Bills. Then we’ve got the Rams vs the Seahawks and finally the Bucs vs Washington.
The biggest favourites of the day are Tom Bradys Bucs at -8. Then we’ve got the Bills at -6.5 and finally the Seahawks at -3.
Let’s look at all three games:
Colts vs Bills Betting Tips:
As a Pats fan who is surrounded by friends who are all Bills fans – goddamn I hate how good the Bills are.
At the start of the season they were a bit iffy I thought. They would be leading big then would blow their lead or come close to it then just come back and win. However their results the last few weeks and their performances – goddamn so good.
The Colts have did what they can but they generally lose to the good teams and that’s just what the Bills are.
Honestly the first half of the season Bills I wouldn’t back. The second half? Hell yes. Their defense stepped up big in the second half. A lot of this will come down to if Eberflus can gameplan against Allen. I don’t think so.
2u on Bills -6.5.
Rams vs Seahawks Betting Tips:
The Seahawks topped the NFC West with a 12-4 record and the Rams finished 10-6. Seahawks went on a great run at the end and are 7-1 at home. They played twice this season and both were quiet affairs with the Seahawks winning 20-9 and the Rams winning 23-16.
Rams arguably have the best defense in the playoffs. The big one for the Seahawks is Jamal Adams. The difference if he plays and he doesn’t is huge. He says no way he isn’t playing but also how healthy is he?
Then we have Goff and if he is playing. The Rams offense is a whole big question mark. I’m going to go with 1u on Seahawks -3 here. They just need to have some balls on offense and go with some big plays.
Bucs vs Washington Betting Tips:
Bucs finished 11-5-0 in the NFC South. Washington. Sigh. 7-9 in the NFC East.
Bucs finished strong. Great offense. Great defense. However there are question marks over Brady here. Washington have a good defense especially against the pass. When the Bucs have played against top 10 defences they have struggled hard.

Super Bowl Odds 2021: Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Spread, Over/Under Betting Guide.
NFL fans who enjoy storylines will be in for a treat this Sunday. When the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the field, they'll bring with them one of the most intriguing quarterback matchups in recent memory.
Buccaneers signal-caller Tom Brady will be playing in his 10th Super Bowl and looking for his seventh Lombardi Trophy—at 43 years old. Kansas City's young gunslinger—the 25-year-old Patrick Mahomes—will be playing in his second-consecutive Super Bowl. In only three years as a full-time starter, Mahomes has already won one Lombardi, one Super Bowl MVP and one regular-season MVP.
In many ways, this quarterback matchup is representative of the NFL's past and its future.
There's a lot more history involved in this game than at the quarterback position, though. Kansas City, which has been in the AFC title game three straight years, may be in the beginning stages of the league's next great dynasty. The Buccaneers are back in the big game for the first time since the 2002 season.
Tampa won Super Bowl XXXVII to claim the only Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
Three will be plenty of star power on the field, too—from defensive playmakers like Shaquil Barrett and Chris Jones to pass-catching phenoms like Chris Godwin and Tyreek Hill. Super Bowl LV could be a shootout, a defensive battle or anything in between—though it landing on one extreme end of the spectrum or the other feels unlikely.
How do the oddsmakers in Las Vegas see it? We'll examine the latest lines and over/unders from DraftKings Sportsbook, along with a close look at the game itself.
Super Bowl LV.
Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida.
When: February 7, 2021.
Time: 6:30 p.m. ET.
TV and Live Stream: CBS, CBS All Access.
Line and Over/Under: KC -3. 55.5.
Injury Roundup.
Injuries can and often do impact how a game lines up with the lines and over/unders. Therefore, it's worth diving into the final injury report for Super Bowl LV.
The good news is that not many players from the playoff roster have officially been ruled out. The only players officially out are Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay and left tackle Eric Fisher. Of course, the Fisher injury could be huge, as right tackle Mitchell Schwartz has been out since Week 6.
This means that the Chiefs will be short-handed trying to slow the Buccaneers pass rush and to protect Mahomes. With players like Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul on Tampa's defensive front, Mahomes may be forced to buy a lot of time in the pocket himself.
Kansas City wideout Sammy Watkins is listed as questionable, as are Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown and tight end Cameron Brate.
Breakdown.
This game may be decided by Tampa's ability to pressure Mahomes. If the Buccaneers can get to Mahomes as they did Aaron Rodgers in the NFC title game—he was sacked five times—Tampa could quickly shift the momentum of this game. Of course, the pass rush is a two-way street, and Brady will have to deal with the likes of Chris Jones when he's on the field.
When the Chiefs and Bucs faced off in the regular season, Brady was only sacked once, but he was also forced into two interceptions. Kansas City won that game 27-24. It's worth noting, though, that the Chiefs got off to a hot start in that game before surviving with a three-point win.
The Buccaneers may get off to a slow start here, as is typical for Brady. In nine previous Super Bowl appearances, Brady's teams have scored a total of three points in the first quarter.
"Hard to explain why or why not that hasn't happened," Brady said, per Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk. "I'm sure they're all a lot of individual things, why that's happened or not."
Expect Brady to put a few more points on the board in this one, though, and to help the score creep past the over.
While this may not be a full-on shootout, it's probably not going to be a defensive struggle, either. There will be too much offensive talent on the field—Hill, Travis Kelce, Chris Godwin, Evans, Watkins and Brown are just a few of the notable names—for either of these defenses to completely shut down the opposition. However, a mistake on which a defense can capitalize could decide it.
The mistake-battle seems to favor Mahomes there, as he's thrown just six picks all season, while Brady has thrown 15—postseason included.
While the Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills will tell you that kicking field goals alone isn't enough to best either of these teams, a field goal could be the difference here.

The AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, are 3-point favorites to beat the NFC champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by quarterback Tom Brady, in Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
Brady, who won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, is looking for another ring, this time with the Bucs, who signed him as a free agent in 2020. Brady has lost three Super Bowls -- two to the New York Giants and one to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mahomes and the Chiefs, the defending NFL champions, are looking for their second title in a row. They rallied to beat the San Francisco 49ers last year, 31-20.
Here’s what you need to know:

Steve Politi, Columnist.
This feels like one of those Super Bowls we’ll look back on and wonder, “How the heck did Tampa Bay get that far?” The answer is Tom Brady, some good fortune and some historically bad decisions from opposing coaches. The Chiefs have the best player in football, a game-breaking receiver and a dynasty in the making. They’ll win easily. Chiefs 34, Buccaneers 20.
Darryl Slater, NFL analyst.
So many intriguing storylines in this Super Bowl. Can Tom Brady win his seventh championship? Or will Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs become the first team to repeat since Brady’s Patriots in 2003-04? This is also a redemptive opportunity for ex-Jets coach Todd Bowles, now the Buccaneers’ defensive coordinator. If Tampa Bay wins, Bowles will have conquered Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Mahomes while winning his first title as a coach. But the Chiefs’ offense — ranked third in Pro Football Focus’ ratings — ultimately will be too much for Bowles and Co., who are fifth in PFF’s defensive ratings. Chiefs 38, Buccaneers 35.
Zack Rosenblatt, Giants beat reporter.
This is one of the more exciting quarterback matchups … maybe ever? A legacy-defining one for Patrick Mahomes, possibly. The Buccaneers playing the Super Bowl at home is uncharted territory. There are a lot of little things, like the Chiefs’ decimated offensive line going against an elite Buccaneers defensive front, that make Tampa Bay a logical pick to upend Kansas City. Tom Brady is still Tom Brady. But at the end of the day, Mahomes is the best football player in the world, the Chiefs’ offense is unstoppable and overall they are simply too good to be overcome even by the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Chiefs 28, Buccaneers 24.
Michael Kaye, Eagles beat reporter.
An under-discussed storyline this week is the Super Bowl rematch between Tom Brady and former Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who brilliantly pressured the then-Patriots QB in Super Bowl XLII. Spagnuolo put out the blueprint on how to mitigate Brady in a Super Bowl, and with Patrick Mahomes putting up points on the opposite side of the ball, the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator will be able to take chances with blitzes against Brady and the Bucs. While this one will be close, Spags’ strategy should bring out the worst in Brady like it did in 2007. Chiefs 27, Buccaneers 23.
Chris Franklin, Eagles beat reporter.
The Nov. 29 matchup, won by the Chiefs, was decided by three points. The Tom Brady vs. Patrick Mahomes showdown should be entertaining, and both offenses can move the ball through the air. The difference will lie with the run game. The Buccaneers have allowed an average of only 85.7 rushing yards in three playoff games. The Bucs are the first team to play a Super Bowl at home, which will help Brady win his seventh Super Bowl title. Buccaneers 31, Chiefs 27.
Joe Giglio, NFL reporter.
Get ready for a shootout in Tampa Bay. Kansas City’s offense is too dynamic and special to be stopped. Tampa Bay’s attack is on fire, with a 43-year-old quarterback that somehow looks younger by the week. One day, we’ll remember this game as a battle of the two best quarterbacks in NFL history. Tom Brady is the GOAT, and will hold that stats for a long time. But Patrick Mahomes is special enough to actually chase him down one day, and that quest starts with back-to-back titles and a head-to-head win on the biggest stage. Chiefs 33, Buccaneers 27.
